Dr Nonkululeko Melody Zondo

Africa Health Research Institute (AHRI)

Nonkululeko Zondo holds a PhD in Development Studies and an undergraduate degree in Social Work from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Her professional background spans academia, applied social science research and community development, with experience across the public sector, higher education and interdisciplinary research. She is currently a Research Associate at AHRI, where she contributes to interdisciplinary research on climate change, health systems and community resilience.

Nonkululeko’s research interests lie in the political economy of development, with a focus on social vulnerability, livelihoods, governance and the interactions between environmental change, health and sustainable development. She contributes to interdisciplinary work examining how socio-economic, environmental and institutional conditions shape vulnerability and adaptive responses in under-resourced communities.
