John Hopkins University School of Medicine

Dr. Christopher Hoffmann MD, MPH is an Associate Professor and clinician scientist in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and a Senior Scientist at the Aurum Institute. He uses implementation science and health behavioural methods to identify gaps and test approaches to reducing HIV and TB morbidity and mortality, primarily in low- and middle-income countries.

Recent work has focused on improving the reach of HIV testing, increasing linkage to treatment for HIV, reducing post-hospital mortality, improving continuity of treatment following release from incarceration, reducing the impact of opioid use on HIV outcomes, improving health service resiliency, and increasing TB preventive therapy delivery and uptake. He brings participatory design, intervention development, and implementation science skills to the ASTRA project.
